Soccer Blog - Week 27

Hello, everybody, and welcome to another article of Super Soccer Ian. I am happy to report that this is my 50th blog I have posted. So thanks for all of the support and follows. This was arguably one of our most exciting weeks yet in MLS this season, and there were some thrilling games. Let's get things started by reviewing the most recent results.

Round 26 Results

The first game of the round was a 1-0 win for the Philadelphia Union over Toronto FC. Then, the NE Revolution beat Sporting KC 3-1, and the Seattle Sounders got a 4-2 win over Chivas USA. The LA
Galaxy won 6-0 against the ten-men Colorado Rapids, and the Philadelphia Union won 2-0 against Toronto FC. The NY Red Bulls beat Sporting KC 2-1, and the Houston Dynamo won 3-2 against the Montréal Impact. Real Salt Lake won 2-1 against FC Dallas, and DC United drew 0-0 with the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Columbus Crew dismantled Chivas USA 3-0, and the Portland Timbers tied 3-3 with the SJ Earthquakes. The final game of the round was a 2-1 win for the NE Revolution over the Chicago Fire. Now, let's take a look at the upcoming schedule.

Upcoming Schedule

Things will start off with a matchup between the Montréal Impact and the LA Galaxy. Then, the NY Red Bulls will play DC United, and the Vancouver Whitecaps will play the SJ Earthquakes. Chivas USA will play Sporting KC, and the Seattle Sounders will host Real Salt Lake. The NY Red Bulls will travel to play the Philadelphia Union, and the NE Revolution will play the Montréal Impact. The Chicago Fire will host Toronto FC, and FC Dallas will play the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Houston Dynamo will host the Columbus Crew, and The Portland Timbers will travel to play the Colorado Rapids. The final game of the round will be between the LA Galaxy and the SJ Earthquakes. Now, let's take a look at my MLS Fantasy tips for this upcoming round.

MLS Fantasy Tips

We have another busy round coming up, and this will be a double-game week for lots of MLS teams. One player that I think would be a good choice would be Obafemi Martins. He got two goals against Chivas USA, and I think that he might get some good Fantasy points at home against Real Salt Lake. Another player that should definitely be on everybody's team by now is Landon Donovan. In his last three, he's averaged 17 points per game! If you don't have him on your team as your captain, then you're probably making a mistake. He's arguably the hottest and in-form player in MLS right now. Staying with the LA Galaxy, Gyasi Zardes would also be a good player to have on your team. In his last two games, he's gotten 28 points. He'd be a great player to get for $8.1 million. One last player that might be a good choice is Alvas Powell on the Portland Timbers. While he's only gotten 33 points this whole season, 25 of them have been in his last two games. He's scored two in two, and I think he might get assists, too because he gets forward so much. Those are my MLS Fantasy tips for this upcoming round.
